El significado psicológico de la homofobia interiorizada en una muestra mexicana

La homofobia interiorizada es un fenómeno psicológico importante en la salud y el desarrollo de las personas homosexuales y bisexuales, sin embargo, su operacionalización ha estado marcada por la literatura psiquiátrica y norteamericana. Esto ha influenciado también las propuestas en Latinoamérica, a pesar de la posible no correspondencia cultural. El objetivo de esta investigación fue conceptualizar la homofobia interiorizada en adultos heterosexuales, lesbianas, gays y bisexuales. Participaron 218 adultos, residentes de la Ciudad de México y el área metropolitana, quienes respondieron a un estímulo generado para la Técnica de Redes Semánticas Naturales Modificadas. Se obtuvieron cuatro núcleos de red, uno por cada grupo formado (personas heterosexuales, hombres y mujeres homosexuales, y personas bisexuales); se comparó el peso semántico de las definidoras y se identificaron elementos comunes para todos los grupos, no obstante, se hallaron definidoras únicas en dos grupos. Esta serie de resultados se discuten a la luz de diversas posturas, como la Teoría del Estrés de las Minorías, el punto de vista cultural, de la salud mental, el estudio de los afectos y de la identidad grupal, en donde se mantiene una serie de indicadores de la literatura previa, pero que también agrega particularidades que corresponden al contenido cultural.
