Abstract

The purpose of the "Teaching in times of COVID-19" dossier is to add critical and analytical voices exploring what the pandemic has meant for each of us on a personal, academic, and professional level. The dossier brings together four articles that discuss issues that have come to light in this scenario beginning by raising the problem of which is the most appropriate term for this period in the history of education: online modality, distance education or, the Emergency Remote Education (ERE), since the latter implies having had to give an urgent response to a totally unexpected situation and for which we were not fully prepared. The themes that complement the dossier address the registration of materials and activities that were put into use during the time of the pandemic, the challenges that the areas of Mathematics teaching with children with Special Educational Needs and Philosophy Teaching to young university students have experienced during the time of COVID-19. Added to this is the discussion about the role of emotional intelligence in higher education in this times.
