Abstract

The modern Arabism was a discipline that arose in Spain about the decade of 1830. The formation and development as a way of study about the historiade of the-Ándalus were complex processes that in the present article the reader will be able to know. It will be explained the nature of the appearance this
discipline, the ideological contradictions that intervened its development and the objectives that were assigned to the policies of the period that had a special interest of forming a historical homogeneous identity for the diverse social groups that lived in the Hispanic territory.
