Abstract

In this article, I will explain the causes that forced my paternal grandparents to emigrate to Chile as a consequence of the religious, political and economic conflict that has succumbed the Arabian Peninsula since ancient times to the present day, which solution seems as far as the conflict itself. Likewise, report their adaptation process in their new home, in which they had to deal with cultural and social rejection that was generated by the distance from which they came and by the strangeness of their culture regarding to the traditional Chilean culture. In this sense, the exercises of power in a political scale between states as well as in the speeches of the citizens and in their perception regarding being a Muslim are recognized.
