Abstract

This research examines the concept of social representation, its expressions about the aging process in subjects of Caribbean origin, residents in the city of Santiago de Cuba. Differences and similarities are sought in the common sense of the same and on this basis some considerations are established regarding the expression of Caribbean thought in the aspect studied. This research carried out in 2008, with an integrative methodology of qualitative and quantitative elements, allowed us to arrive to important results on the social representation of aging in the subjects studied, being the main objective pursued with it.
