Abstract

This visual-ethnographic work reflects the representation of the carnival or nahnahuatilli and its intrinsic connection with the pre-hispanic cultural Nahua elements associated with tlacatecolotl (owl men), the pintos’ ritual dance and ocelotl (jaguar) in rural areas of the Huasteca in the Yahualica municipality, Hidalgo´s state, this cultural expression is one of the most important ones for the inhabitants and conforms one of the intangible elements that support the base of the cultural identity of the Huasteca Hidalguense.
