Abstract

The state of Quintana Roo has a literary tradition with just over a century of existence (129 years). His literary history begins in the nineteenth century; it acquires a certain dynamism in the first half of the 20th century; and in the last quarter of the 20th century, various voices emerged in the southern part of the state. However, it is in the 21st century, hand in hand with writers based in the northern part of the state, mainly in the city of Cancun, when a thematic innovation is generated in Quintana Roo’s literature: tourism. I propose to briefly review the poetic work of two authors, Miguel Ángel Meza and Óscar Reyes Hernández, where the theme of tourism is the axis of his aesthetic proposals.
