Abstract

This dossier, entitled “Archives and Libraries in Mexico, a development of centuries and fortune”, examines the praxis and development of these institutions, fundamental for conducting scientific research and depositaries of heritage assets of great cultural and social significance, but that so far have received little attention in academic studies. It consists of three articles that analyze, from different perspectives, how this space has been constructed, considering both individual actions and institutional processes to provide us with a multiple and comprehensive vision of this subject, that is little-known outside the scope of specialists.
