The Xantolo in the huasteca hidalguense, nahua’s reflections in Yahualica

Abstract

This paper aims to show the traditional Xantolo (feast of all saints) also known popularly as the feast of the dead through photographic records made in the town of Yahualica, state of Hidalgo from 26 October to 2 November 2016. The celebration of Xantolo is a social phenomenon full of meanings and associated cultural elements of the huasteca and nahua cultural heritage, this festival now has a special relationship with indigenous peoples and communities settled in this region and has an important role to improve the social cohesion and strengthens the huasteca cultural identity.
