Abstract

This review deals with the work of Samuel Jouault -geographer- on the touristification process in the hinterlandof Cancun-Riviera Maya. The strengths of the method used for the research are pointed out, its importance for future researchers -anthropologists, geographers, tourism specialists- interested in the broad theme of tourism and the scope of the research by focusing on local actors.
