Resumen

El objetivo del trabajo es revisar los estudios publicados que tratan directa o indirectamente sobre los aspectos sociales, culturales y económicos de la problemática del Chagas en México para su discusión y como punto de partida para proponer nuevas líneas de trabajo hacia la apertura multidimensional del tema. Se utilizó un enfoque de revisión sistemática. Entre los hallazgos más relevantes fue que la literatura encontrada fue escasa y proveniente principalmente sobre la temática de factores socioeconómicos del riesgo que conforman dos terceras partes de los artículos revisados. La mayoría de los estudios se localizaron en contextos rurales, se distribuyeron de manera desigual en el país y su localización estuvo asociada a la presencia de centros de investigación biomédica estatales o regionales. La revisión permite concluir que se requiere avanzar en la investigación sociocultural, económica y política desde las ciencias sociales que refleje la complejidad del Chagas como una problemática socio-ambiental tanto en contextos rurales como urbanos, de múltiples dimensiones, como ubicua en el territorio mexicano y que afecta a población mexicana incluso más allá de nuestras fronteras. En este sentido, se propone un listado de prioridades de líneas de trabajo.
