Abstract

This paper aims to address a current theme for education in Peru and Latin America. In order to analyze the expression “competent teacher”, its meaning and the pedagogical practice in the classrooms, we take into account -mainly- the text of José Manú and Imanol Goyarrola: Competent teachers. For a quality
education (2011). In addition, it explores inclusive education and the teacher model as a transmitter of knowledge. All this from the anthropological point of view, which makes possible some reflections that transcend in the ideological limitations and daily practices on the teaching staff in their educational work.
