Mosquitocentric logic

Abstract

In this article we will analyze the prevention policy applied in Brazil after the outbreaks of Chikungunya and Zika. The campaign that the sanitary authorities applied was dominated by a model that we call “mosquitocentric”, which focuses on public action in the fight against mosquitoes through the use of chemical products, instead of promoting structural changes that promote the wellbeing of the population .
